Simone Callegari was born in Italy in 1981.
Simone studied astrophysics at the University of Milano-Bicocca, earning the BSc in Physics and the MSc in Astrophysics and Space Physics. He completed the PhD (Dr.sc.nat.) in Computational Astrophysics at the University of Zurich in 2011, working on hydrodynamic simulations of galaxy formation and supermassive black hole evolution. He later worked as a postdoctoral researcher and then as senior researcher in Computer-Assisted Paleoanthropology, also at the University of Zurich, where he developed agent-based models of human populations.
Simone joined ZMT in December 2018 to work mainly on Sim4Life development.
