IT’IS and ZMT Zurich MedTech at the MEET THE EXPERT - Implants Conference

Dr. Earl Zastrow of the IT’IS Foundation and Dr. Maria Cabanes and Wolfgang Wiedemair of ZMT Zurich MedTech AG attended the MEET THE EXPERT - Implants conference in Interlaken, Switzerland. The 2-day event (May 7 – 8) convened speakers and exhibitors with the aim to present new developments in the field of passive and active medical implants, with special emphasis on cost efficiency and triggering collaborations.

Dr. Zastrow presented a poster entitled “Safety Assessment of RF-Implant Interactions during MRI Exposure via In Silico Trials: Minimizing Cost & Patients’ Risk” and, at an exhibition booth shared with ZMT, answered inquiries about various services offered by IT’IS.

The ZMT team showcased new, exciting features of Sim4Life, the first commercial multiphysics, multiscale simulation platform for computational biomedical applications and life sciences in complex anatomies. Moreover, the demonstration of the PiX (with TDS) testing solution attracted great interest from the conference attendees. Both hardware and software products were highlighted by Dr. Cabanes in a plenary flash talk. Dr. Wiedemair provided a glimpse at Sim4Life’s flow solver capabilities in his talk about hemodynamics in complex aneurysm geometries and the impact of flow-diverting implants.
