A New Home for the o²S²PARC Platform: Now Hosted by ZMT

ZMT now hosts the o²S²PARC platform following the end of NIH Common Fund support, under which it was developed by the IT’IS Foundation. As technical host only, ZMT ensures a stable environment without influencing content or accessing user data, supporting long-term sustainability of this important scientific resource.

ZMT is honored to announce that it has assumed hosting of the o²S²PARC platform, developed by Z43 partner IT’IS Foundation. o²S²PARC is a cloud-based environment for building, running, sharing, and publishing integrated biomedical simulations in a collaborative and reproducible manner. With the conclusion of funding through the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Common Fund’s SPARC Program, this transition secures the platform’s continued availability for the scientific community.

The hosting by ZMT is provided at no cost to users, ensuring a stable and sustainable environment for o²S²PARC and its growing community of researchers and students. The platform will continue to be maintained by IT’IS as part of a shared deployment alongside the Sim4Life (sim4life.io) application.

This long-term hosting solution has been established in close coordination with IT’IS and the NIH SPARC Office, ensuring a seamless transition and continued alignment with the platform’s original mission. ZMT’s role is limited to technical hosting – it does not influence platform content and has no access to user data, thereby preserving the platform’s scientific independence while enabling ongoing development and expansion.

The migration was successfully completed this week, and users can continue to access the platform via osparc.io as usual.

ZMT looks forward to supporting the continued growth and evolution of o²S²PARC as a reliable and scalable resource for the research community.
