ZMT’S MRI Implant Safety Test Suite Extended to 0.55T and Beyond

ZMT’s MRI Implant Safety Test Suite has been extended to fully support the ISO 10974 Tier 3 workflow for implant risk evaluations in low-field 0.55T MRI systems. It includes the redesigned piX system with new excitors, the new MITS-TT-LF, and the extended MRIxViP library from IT’IS. Other MRI field strengths are now also available by request.

ZMT is proud to unveil all the tools needed for assessing implant risks in low-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems – starting with 0.55T and ready to support additional field strengths by request.

To enable precise in vivo prediction of an active implant’s radiofrequency (RF) heating, or induced voltage inside the IPG, during MRI in 0.55T scanners, we developed a low-field piX analyzer (piXAV3) with new excitors, and a low-field MITS TableTop (MITS-TT-LF), while keeping the systems efficient, easy-to-use, and with minimal requirements. Our partner, the IT’IS Foundation, is also adding 0.55T RF coil exposures to its MRI exposure library MRIxViP in its next release. Together, the tools of our Low-Field MRI Implant Safety Test Suite can predict the in vivo deposited power or induced voltage of any implant according to the Tier 3 approach of ISO 10974.

The piX can now support any frequency from 1 – 150 MHz with the appropriate excitor source, while the dual-band MITS-TT-LF can support any two frequencies from 23.4 – 128 MHz.

As before, both piX and MITS-TT systems can be integrated with the DASY robot with Module AIMD. Now, in addition to extremely accurate positioning and measurement capabilities, you can benefit from fully automated control of the polarization of the electrical field inside the MITS-TT, for faster and easier exposure of the implant to a wide range of well-defined incident fields without remounting.
