In our annual Sim4Life User Workshops, invited experts present the latest advancements in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology. The speakers include Ji Chen (University of Houston), Kyoko Fujimoto (GE Healthcare), Shao Che (United Imaging), Ozlem Ipek (Kings College), Magdy Iskander (University of Hawaii), and Tolga Goren (IT’IS Foundation).
Shao will present the latest results from United Imaging’s 5T Jupiter system, which has now received CE, NMPA, and FDA approvals.
Kyoko will tell us about the latest trends in MRI safety evaluations, and the applications of computational modeling and simulation for vendors as well as for regulatory bodies.
Ji will introduce new findings on the potential risk of unintended vagus nerve stimulation in MRI environments, emphasizing the need for safety considerations in patients with implantable vagus nerve stimulators.
Ozlem will present a short study on the Virtual Observation Point (VOP) process, and how the solution currently implemented in Sim4Life will benefit other Sim4Life users.
Magdy will step outside the world of MRI to introduce us to the use of radio frequency technologies to redefine cardiopulmonary monitoring – from non-invasive chest-patch stethoscopes to novel intracardiac virtual catheters.
Finally, Tolga will introduce the tools and procedures developed by the IT’IS Foundation and ZMT for implant safety assessment in low-field MRI.
