Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), ZMT Zurich MedTech AG and their distribution partner in China and Taiwan, AUDEN Technology Corporation, hosted the popular Annual Hardware & Software Workshop Series in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen (China), as well as Taipei (Taiwan) in June 2017.
Overall, more than 200 participants from industry and academia explored SPEAG's and ZMT’s latest innovations and product updates, learned about most recent trends in standards and regulation and their potential impact on their businesses, and discovered how SPEAG’s and ZMT’s solutions and technology roadmap add value to their current R&D operations while anticipating future technological advances in 2017 and beyond.
The variety of presentations, live demos, invited talks by guest speakers and keynote openings, for example by the highly renowned Dr. Xie in Beijing, were met with great interest and were followed by lively interactions and discussions.
The world premiere of SPEAG’s novel hardware and software 5G probe system - the only compliant 5G solution for industry available so far - and the demonstration of the all-regulation-satisfying DASY Software Version 6.4 have been two of the highlights of the tour. Recent updates of our existing products, such as cSAR3D (including the cSARD6 robot based positioning), DAK-TL, ICEy, and a range of novel EM-Phantoms for OTA testing of body-worn devices, complemented the presentation of hardware test solutions for the 5G and wireless communications industry.
Furthermore, SPEAG presented the most recent numerical modelling advancements in SEMCAD X Matterhorn V16.4, speeding up the design and optimization process for high-end 5G solutions by the latest generation of parameterization and optimization algorithms.
ZMT introduced the beta version of IMAnalytics and MRIxViP - a unique, validated module for the smooth, comprehensive, fast, and error-free analysis of the magnetic resonance safety of implants. The unique combination of a dedicated database of field simulations (MRIxViP, IT’IS Foundation) with a new generation of processing and analysis power (IMAnalytics, ZMT) is the first of its kind enabling users with different levels of modeling experience to conduct safety investigations within a reasonably short period of time and at lower operational costs.
Feedback from several attendees confirmed the success of this year's workshop series. SPEAG and ZMT look forward to the next workshops and to continue delivering consistent, innovative and complete solutions for EM field modelling and compliance testing - an essential prerequisite for industries such as 5G.
