Enter the Sim4Life Student Competition and win one of our exciting prizes!

This year’s Sim4Life Student Competition gives us an opportunity to recognize outstanding work in numerical simulations in a variety of research areas. Students are encouraged to enter the competition by submitting original simulation projects developed with Sim4Life.

Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD students

Each participant must:

• define a unique problem for which Sim4Life is used to numerically model and find a solution
• submit the project, including a brief explanation template) of the approach, along with the corresponding Sim4Life simulation file
• alternatively, a scientific paper submitted in 2025 or a presentation made at a scientific meeting in 2025, along with the corresponding Sim4Life simulation file, may be used as a competition entry
• share the simulation project and paper/abstract via email to s4l-support@zmt.swiss or via Sim4Life.web by tagging it with “Sim4Life Student Competition 2025” by 31 October 2025, 23:59h Swiss local time 

Successful submission of a project will be confirmed by email.

The submitted projects will be evaluated by a panel of experts according to the following criteria:

• scientific value / importance
• originality / complexity
• appropriate use of Sim4Life modeling tools, solvers, analysis, Python notebook, and libraries
• proper application of methodology, verification and validation, and confidence intervals, and recognition of limitations
• quality of reporting in terms of clarity, completeness, and presentation, including visuals

The winners will be notified individually via email between 1 and 15 of December 2025, and prizes will be officially announced by ZMT thereafter.
