Bryn was born in Johannesburg RSA in April 1980. He earned his degree in electrical engineering and information technology from ETH Zurich after conducting his M.Sc. thesis research at the Surgical Planning Laboratory in the Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston, MA, USA.
In 2006, he joined the Computer Vision Laboratory (BIWI) at ETH, where he was involved in a project called CO-ME, sponsored by the Swiss National Science Foundation. He completed his PhD at the ETH with the dissertation “Computational Modeling of Tumor Growth.” After his thesis, Bryn stayed at BIWI to work on a CTI project in collaboration with VirtaMed. Bryn has been employed by IT’IS since 2011 and is currently working in the Computational Life Sciences group.
Bryn also joined ZMT in 2016 as a project leader in computational phantoms.
