Application Engineer for Computational Electromagnetics (CEM)

ZMT, together with its partner organizations Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS), Schmid & Partner Engineering AG (SPEAG), and TI Solutions AG (TI Solutions), form the Zurich43 alliance. Z43’s dedicated mission is to expand the knowledge and technology for (i) characterization, optimization, and application of the electromagnetic (EM) near-field, (ii) predictive modeling of interactions between physical agents and physiology in complex anatomies, and (iii) medical applications.

Your tasks:

  • Development of showcases for various applications that demonstrate the features and capabilities of our simulation platform (web and desktop version)
  • Technical support for our global users
  • Technical presentations at seminars and workshops
  • Participation in scientific conferences and exhibitions
  • Research and observation of market trends and competitor products
  • Collection of feedback from users and partners and collaborative work with the research and development teams to improve our simulation platform
  • Support of the development team during all software release activities (e.g., testing of software, writing of application notes and manual, training sessions)

Your profile:

  • University degree in electrical engineering or physics
  • Solid background in EM theory
  • Knowledge of and practical experience in at minimum one of the following areas: computational modeling and simulation, antenna design, medical device engineering, software development, scripting, web applications, electromagnetic field theory
  • Good understanding of software development processes
  • Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the highest quality standard of work
  • Self-motivation, good organizational and communication skills, impeccable attention to detail, friendly personality, and team-spirit
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, to work independently in a fast-paced setting, and to meet tight deadlines
  • Commitment to effectively respond to the needs of partners and customers
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken), ability to communicate in German is a plus
