ZMT’s New Standard Active Implanted Medical Implants (SAIMD) Demonstrated at ISO 10974 JWG

ZMT partner IT’IS participated in the ISO 10974 Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting from June 19-21, 2019 in Nancy to discuss safety aspects of the electromagnetic compatibility of active implants during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exposures. At the meeting, the IT'IS team also presented ZMT’s two new standard active implanted medical devices SAIMD-1 (128 MHz) and SAIMD-U, which are used to ensure that testing setups are validated and giving correct results compared to numerically derived targets. The devices each capture the fundamental behavior of a real active medical implant within their relevant context of use, while being simplified enough to be fully simulated with Sim4Life's validated FDTD solver, enabling the validation of the measurement system to be directly traceable!

A video demonstrating their use for validating ZMT's piX system can be found here.
